To punctuate the ever-growing divide between the haves and have-nots, here comes exclusion lanes on the interstate, paid for by us all with taxes and erosion of life quality that comes with highway expansion in Florida, but available only to those with the extra money. Class can now be determined not only by the car you're driving but the lane it's in. As the commoners sit mired in a traffic jam, they can view the cars of the flamboyant whizzing by and imagine the smug faces of those inside glad they get to go first. All men may be created equal but that's where the unity ends.
Pathetic = deserving of pity.

I grew up by Hialeah Racetrack in the 50's. Every day during the season we sweaty little boys would line up by East 21 st and 4th ave and count the limos as men in drivers caps took the cigar smoking fat cats in black suits to the track. Richest of the rich. Mostly mob guys and their blonde molls. Being driven in from Miami Beach....Fun and sun capital of the world and all. We were the poor children of the poor Hillbillies who came South after the war to find a place to live where the pipes didn't freeze. Fast forward 70 years and us poor children of Hillbillies are still standing aside and watching Fat Cats go by in the fast lane.
